Coronavirus Measures

All Masses and public services are suspended from the evening of Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice, due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Please download the Bishops statement on the RC response to Coronavirus here (in Word format) or view it in PDF format

Sadly, following recent government instructions, we can no longer leave the church open for private prayer, but we can still pray for the world, those suffering and grieving as a result of Coronavirus, and each other, from the privacy of our own homes.

Parishioners are also reminded:

  • Father Dominic will still say Mass for us each day, privately
  • Put you weekly offerings on one side, so that you can give them when normal service resumes. The parish cannot survive without them! Alternatively, there is a donate button (top right) on the home page of the diocesan website – From there donations which can also be gift aided can be made to any parish via credit or debit card. There are transaction charges levied by the card processing company which amount to 20p + 1.9% of the value of the donation – so for a £10 donation this will amount to £0.39 which will be deducted from the amount we receive. So standing order remains the most cost effective way for parishioners to donate.
  • Sanctus: Please continue to donate food to asylum-seekers living locally. Especially needed is: shower gel, shampoo, washing up liquid, nappies - newborn, size 4, size 5 only, tins of red kidney beans, tins of tomatoes, pasta, cornflakes, coffee, sugar. Thanks to parishioners for the ongoing supply of food/toiletries, donated to support asylum-seekers and refugees living locally. Since the lockdown we’ve seen increased donations, so a huge thanks, and also for passing the message on to friends and neighbours. Last Wednesday, Through your support, Sanctus was able to deliver 100 bags of food to people in their homes. While our churches remain locked, donations can be left in my porch at 60 Sparch Hollow, May Bank, ST5 9PF. Much love, Carmel xxx

The following website gives a number of live stream Masses and other acts of Catholic worship throughout the day and from Catholic churches across the UK and Ireland that people may want to watch and join in:
